What is this all about?
I'm sure you've all seen the Million Dollar Home Page, where Alex Tew has sold pixels in order to finance his college education. However, we're going to make the
concept a sponsorship opportunity. Instead of financing a college education, we will be using the money raised on this website to sponsor Steve Surry as he competes for his Tour Card. We all know how expensive it is to play on the
the feeder tours and Steve needs to play at the highest standard; in order for him to obtain his Tour Card by 2011.
This sponsorship opportunity goes someway to allowing the many small investor to play apart in Steve's journey and we all know he's got the talent and if the team are honest, finance is the main
reason Steve has not achieved his goal.
With the exposure via television, print, radio, and the web, people will visit this website and see your ads. An inexpensive way to promote any business or cause!
Steve's goal is to raise £125,000 in order to properly finance a 3 year program to gain his European Tour Card.
How do we plan to do this?
Pixels are available in 100 pixel 'squares', with each square measuring 10x10 pixels.
The reason for selling them in these squares is because anything smaller than that would be too small to display
anything meaningful. However, you are welcome to pool with friends, family, or business partners to purchase one or more squares.
Each 10x10 square costs £50, equating to a cost of 50p per pixel. You can buy as many squares as you like, as long as there are some available.
When you purchase a 10x10 square, you earn a listing on the sponsors page (optional)
If you purhase over £500 you may be given shares options that will pay out from a percentage of Steve's winning; from his 1st year on the actual European Tour.
Please read all of the following rules if you are about to buy some pixels. It's important that you follow them.
* The minimum purchase is £50 (100 pixels). However, you are free to purchase more than that if you wish.
* When you 'buy' pixels, you will not 'own' any part of this site; however, you are granted the right to submit an image and link which will then be published on the homepage in the respective space you have paid for.
* You cannot change the image or link once you have submitted them, so you must be sure of the image and link you want on the homepage, which will be there for at least 3 years. The only exception is if you have a strong reason why you need a change to your image/link(i.e. your site no longer exists, lawsuits, etc.).
* If your image and link are accepted and published on the homepage, NO REFUNDS!
* The site and homepage will be online for at least 3 years (starting from January 31, 2009), so it will run at least until January 31, 2012. However, we'd like it to possibly be even longer!
* No obscene/offensive/adult images/links will be accepted, and we decide what is appropriate. If you submit an image or link that is rejected, you will have the opportunity to provide an alternative. If you don't, your money will be refunded, and you will lose your pixels.
* If your link is accepted, and you later change the content of the linked site to show offensive/obscene/adult material, your link will be removed until you provide a new one. Also, you will NOT get a refund of any kind for the link downtime.
* If for whatever reason in the future, you want your image and link removed from the homepage, you can do so. However, you will NOT get a refund, and the space will become publicly available again.
* Images must be the exact size you have paid for (i.e. 100 pixels = 10x10 pixels).
* Images must be in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format, and they must have a reasonable file size.
* Images must NOT be animated!
* Links must be to web pages only and begin with http://.
* You must have the authority to provide the image and link for the website you submit.
* Funds must be fully recieved and cleared before your pixels go live on the homepage.
* There might be occasional downtime for site maintenence, but these will be kept to as minimum a time as possible.
* Once you have ordered, and the funds have cleared, we will aim to get your pixels online within 24-48 hours.
I want to buy some pixels so I can be part of Steve Surry's journey!
Now that you know the rules, there are two ways to buy pixels. You may pay with a credit card via GoogleCheckout. If you wish to pay by bank transfer,
please E-mail Chris so that we can set up the details.
Once you have paid for your pixels,
please e-mail Ross with the following:
1. Your image as a GIF/JPEG/PNG (which must be the correct size for the amount of pixels purchased).
2. State where you want your image (i.e. "10 blocks across, 10 blocks down"). Please be sure, because you CANNOT change it once your image is placed on the site. Also, be sure to get in early! Spots are first come, first serve.
3. State the website you wish to link your image to (i.e. "http://www.stevesurry.com").
4. State the ALT text you want for your image. ALT text is what people see when they scroll over your image.
