Having spent thirty years playing competitive golf as a professional I have had the privilege of competing and playing
with some of the worlds great players - Faldo, Woosnam and Lyle to name some of the best.
Five years ago I played with
Steve Surry for the first time and it was immediately apparent he was something special.
However, many young players with potential fail to improve, and accordingly I watched Steve over the last few years to
see if his obvious talent would be converted into something extra.
Having improved every department of his game I can unreservedly predict Steve has a very bright future as a competitive professional
on the European Tour. He has touch around the green, he doesn’t back off when the pressure is on and his length off the tee will be a great asset.
Rarely have I seen such an accomplished striker of the ball with such a professional attitude to scoring.
I wish him the very best of luck and look forward to seeing him compete against the stars. There is no young player that I can more highly recommend.

I have worked with Steve since he began playing golf at Cumberwell 15 years ago.
His dedication and exceptional ability at a young age was quickly recognised and was nurtured into the player he is today.
Steve has been adopted by Cumberwell and it’s members along with the ‘John Jacobs Academy’, who now work continuously with him to hone his game.
I have been personally taking the necessary steps to ensure my team fulfils Steve’s coaching requirements,
in order for him to achieve his goal to compete on the European Tour within the next 3 years.
